Bareskrim Polri Identified New Suspect in The Binomo Scam Case

tribratanews.polri.go.id - Some time ago, the Bareskrim Polri revealed that there would be new suspects related to the Binomo scam case. And recently, the Criminal Investigation Agency (Bareskrim) of the Indonesian National Police (Polri) has fulfilled its promise by announcing a new suspect in the case that has dragged Indra Kenz as a suspect.

The new suspect is Brian Edgar Nababan.

Director of Special Economic Crimes (Dirtipideksus) of Bareskrim, Brigadier General Whisnu Hermawan Februanto, S.I.K., M.H., through a written statement in Jakarta, Sunday (3/4/22), stated that Dirtipideksus Bareskrim had arrested Brian for the next 20 days starting from April 1, 2022.

Dirtipideksus Bareskrim said investigators had confiscated a laptop from the suspect.

Dirtipideksus Bareskrim further conveyed the results of an initial examination conducted by investigators on Friday (1/4/22), showing that Edgar is one of the managers in the Binomo application. His role is to offer the influencers on social media to work as an affiliate.

The police further said that Brian could be charged with Article 45 paragraph (2) in conjunction with Article 27 paragraph (2), and/or Article 45A paragraph (1) in conjunction with Article 28 paragraph (1) of Law no. 19 of 2016 concerning Amendments to Law No. 11 of 2008 concerning Information and Electronic Transactions (ITE).

Other articles that could be charged against Brian, namely Article 3, Article 5, and Article 10 of Law no. 8 of 2010 concerning the Prevention and Eradication of the Crime of Money Laundering, and or Article 378 of the Criminal Code in conjunction with Article 55 of the Criminal Code.
