A visit to the Indonesian Coffee and Cocoa Research Center in Jember was led by the Head of Cartenz Peace Operations, Commissioner Nanang Purnomo S.H., M.H., accompanied by the First Brigadier Nabila Tanaty and Brigadier Edgard W Suripatty. The aim and purpose of this visit are to tighten the synergy between the National Police Task Force and the Coffee and Cocoa Research Center to develop coffee plants in the central highlands of Jayapura.
The Cartenz Task Force aims to develop coffee plants in the central mountains of the Nduga, Puncak, Intan Jaya, Yahukimo, and Bintang Mountains areas which are located in the central mountainous region. Those five areas are difficult to reach which makes the facilities cannot be transported by land.
Director of Coffee and Cocoa Research, Mr. Dr. Agung Wahyu Susilo, SP., MP., explained that the coffee plant seeds that were developed in the central mountains of Jayapura had already been studied in 2017 and the results were that the coffee plantS could grow well and have a distinctive taste from the land of Papua.
In maintaining a balance of taste in each coffee production, the Indonesian coffee and cocoa research center in Jember will assist at every step of coffee-making processing carried out by the Cartenz Peace Operations.
