Densus 88 Arrest 5 Suspected Terrorists of ISIS

inp.polri.go.id – Jakarta. Counter-Terrorism Special Detachment (Densus) 88 has arrested five suspected terrorists who were involved with the Daulah Islamiah Islamic State of Iraq and Syria (ISIS) group.

"Yes, that's right, they were arrested on March 15, 2022," explained the Head of the Operational Assistance (Kabag Banops) of Densus 88, Commissioner Aswin Siregar, Thursday (24/3/22).

The five terrorist suspects are MR, HP, MI, RBS, and DK. They were arrested in different locations, from West Jakarta, Lampung, South Tangerang, Kendal Regency, to Central Java.

Kabag Banops Densus 88 said the suspects often spread information containing ISIS propaganda. In addition, they are also members of the 'Annajiyah Media Center' group whose role is to distribute digital posters related to terrorist propaganda.

"It aims to raise the spirit of jihad so that other people are encouraged to carry out jihad amaliah," he explained.

The 'Annajiyah Media Center' group itself is managed by a terrorist suspect with the initials RBS who was arrested in Palmerah, West Jakarta. RBS is a supporter of the Islamic State of ISIS.

After RBS was arrested, Densus 88 confiscated several pieces of evidence, ranging from a katana, a book entitled 'Tarbiyah Jihadiyah', 'Ad-Daa' Wa Ad-Dawaa', 'Kitab Tauhid', 'Yes They Are Thogut', 'Welcoming the New Crusade', and 'Al-Wala Wal-Bara'. Apart from that, Densus 88 also confiscated a black hat with 'Tawhid' written on it.

Then, there were other pieces of evidence such as books with various titles which were secured from the suspects. There was also a set of Airgun CM-036 model AK-47, and an airgun with PM Model Makarof brand, one plastic bag, one gas airgun, two bullet boxes, one plastic gun which was secured by the Densus 88 team.
