tribratanews.polri.go.id - The Directorate of Traffic (Ditlantas) of Polda Metro Jaya began to impose electronic fines for two types of violations on toll roads on April 1, which are speed limits and overloading. Electronic ticketing cameras for the two types of violations are installed on seven toll roads in Jakarta.
ETLE cameras for the speed limit have been installed on five toll roads, starting from the Jakarta-Cikampek Freeway, the MBZ Freeway, the inner-city Freeway, and the Kunciran-Cengkareng Freeway, and the Soedijatmo Freeway towards Soekarno-Hatta Airport.
As for the load limit cameras, the authorities have already installed them on JORR Freeway and Jakarta-Tangerang Freeway.
The socialization of the speed limit and load limit electronic ticket has been carried out from 1-31 March 2022, and the implementation will effectively be carried out on 1 April 2022.
A day after the Electronic Traffic Law Enforcement (ETLE) was applied, 19 vehicles were ticketed for violating the speed limit using a "speedcam", Monday (4/4/2022).
The Head of the Sub-Directorate of Guidance and Law Enforcement of Ditlantas Polda Metro Jaya, AKBP Jamal Alam H, S.H., S.I.K., M.S.i., revealed that the 19 vehicles were traveling above the 100 km/hour limit on the freeway roads.
For the drivers who violate the law, the penalty for violating the speed limit has been regulated in Article 287 paragraph 5 of the Road Traffic and Transportation Law (LLAJ) No 22/2009 which reads:
"Any drivers who violate the rules of the highest or lowest speed limit will be punished with a maximum imprisonment of two months or a maximum fine of IDR 500,000."
The speed limit on the freeway or toll road is a minimum of 60 km/hour with the highest limit of 100 km/hour.
While the weight limits are regulated in Article 307 of Law No. 22/2009 which reads:
"Everyone who drives a Motorized Vehicle for Public Transport of Goods who does not comply with the provisions regarding the procedure for loading, carrying capacity, and dimensions of the vehicle as referred to in Article 169 paragraph (1) shall be subject to a maximum imprisonment of two months or a maximum fine of Rp. 500,000."
