Tribratanews.polri.go.id - The Traffic Corps (Korlantas) of the Indonesian National Police (Polri) has officially launched Phase 2 of Electronic Traffic Law Enforcement (ETLE). The National Police Chief (Kapolri), General Drs. Listyo Sigit Prabowo, M.Sc., attended E-TLE inauguration directly in East Java and was followed virtually by 13 Regional Police (Polda) in Indonesia.
The 13 Polda that have officially established E-TLE including the South Kalimantan Police, North Sumatra Police, South Sumatra Police, Bangka Belitung Police, Bengkulu Police, West Kalimantan Police, Polda, Central Kalimantan Police, East Kalimantan Police, Gorontalo Police, NTB Police, Polda NTT, Papuan Police, and West Papuan Police.
After participating in the launching of E-TLE, the South Kalimantan Police Chief (Kapolda Kalsel), Inspector General Drs. Rikhwanto, S.H., M.Hum., said that through this E-TLE, hopefully there will be a good traffic culture, which order and smooth traffic will be created.
“Not everything captured by the camera has to be ticketed. If there is a complaint, it’s okay, this is meant to make it easier for people to carry out their daily activities in the current digital era,” said Kapolda Kalsel.
In the future, we will cooperate with the local government to add more E-TLE camera spots, so that the community will be more compliant with the law. In supporting the work of this sophisticated camera, we have to modify several roads.
“There are intersection points that need to be modified, such as the red box at the crossroads, it is intended for two-wheelers to prevent any traffic jams, where cars are not allowed to enter the red box,” explained Kapolda Kalsel.
The existence of E-TLE certainly helps local governments to obtain Local Original Taxes (PAD), he continued. Because, through E-TLE vehicle, owners can change the ownership much faster.
For districts, the implementation of E-TLE will be reviewed along with stakeholders, whether it can be implemented or not. The problem is not just running it, but also the budget is enough or not.
“The police must collaborate with local governments, provincial, district, and city governments. If it is feasible in the area, it will be implemented,” added Kapolda Kalsel.
Hopefully, with this E-TLE, South Kalimantan will be even better, the traffic will be more orderly, the people become better and together move towards a Smart City.
