Tribratanews.polri.go.id - The Student Executive Board of Indonesia (BEM SI) will hold simultaneous demonstrations in various cities, including the Maluku region, on Monday, April 11, 2022.
In response to this, Maluku Police Chief (Kapolda Maluku) Inspector General Drs. H. Lotharia Latif, S.H., M.Hum., asked the students to convey their aspirations in an orderly and non-anarchic manner.
Kapolda Maluku reminded them that currently, all Muslims are fasting, so he advised students to express their aspirations in a cool and peaceful manner.
"Thank you to the students who demonstrated in front of the Pattimura University Campus for doing it safely and under control," said Kapolda Maluku, Saturday (9/4).
Considering now in the month of Ramadan, Kapolda Maluku offers a solution that the student representatives instead do an audience with several related agencies.
According to him, through the audience, community activities and public order will not be disturbed.
"The demonstration should not disturb the activity of the society. If you truly voice it for the people, then you should have not to disturb and harm the general public," explained the Maluku Police Chief.
Kapolda Maluku is worried that the student demonstrations will be used by other groups for their agenda.
