Tribratanews.polri.go.id - Palembang. The Chief of the Indonesian National Police (Kapolri), General Listyo Sigit Prabowo, M.Sc., directly inspected the cooking oil factory of PT. Tunas Baru Lampung (PT. TBL), Palembang, South Sumatra (South Sumatra), on Friday (01/04/22). This is to ensure the availability and price stability of cooking oil.

"We have just reviewed the factory to see firsthand the production of cooking oil, especially bulk oil. We want to make sure that the highest retail price (HET) is set, we hope that bulk oil will be on the market soon," said Kapolri after conducting the review.

In his review, Kapolri asked the producers to increase the amount of production, especially for bulk cooking oil. Moreover, PT. TBL has received a production quota from the Ministry of Industry of 1,400 tons for April, which previously was only 560 tons/month in March.

With the increase in the amount of production, he hopes that the stock or availability of bulk cooking oil is safe and sufficient for the community.

"Of course, we want to make sure that everyday bulk oil production is truly distributed to the people. After the needs in Palembang are met, please arrange it to other areas such as Jambi and other areas according to the needs of each region," said the former Police Criminal Investigation Officer.

Even so, The factory conveyed that there were a few problems regarding the shortage of raw materials. Hearing this, Sigit said that he would carry out further investigation related to this.

"However, we hope that the production of the target given by the Ministry of Industry can be met by PT TBL," said the former Banten Police Chief.

The increase in bulk oil production is also anticipation to avoid a shortage of bulk cooking oil in Ramadhan later.

"Because we are about to enter the month of Ramadhan, we hope that it will the factory could meet its target. Because this oil is needed by our people who have been dependent on bulk oil, especially street vendors and certain community groups that we saw were in dire need. We hope that it can be increased," concluded Kapolri.
