Tribratanews.polri.go.id - Mataram. A total of 4 suspects were involved in the abortion crime case committed by AS, a 19-year-old woman, a resident of Karang Bedil, Cakranegara, Mataram City. She was arrested by the Mataram Police (Polresta Mataram) Criminal Investigation Unit (Satreskrim) through their PPA Unit.
This was conveyed by the Deputy Head of the Mataram Police (Wakapolresta Mataram) AKBP Syarif Hidayat in a press conference, which was also attended by the Head of the Mataram Police (Kapolresta) Commissioner Heri Wahyudi, S.I.K., and Head of Satreskrim of Polresta Mataram, Commissioner Kadek Adi Budi Astawa, S.I.K., at the Lobby of the Mataram Police, Wednesday (6/4).
Wakapolresta Mataram explained that the abortion was conducted by AS on March 27, 2022. The abortion was asked by IKA, a 37-year-old male resident of eastern Cakranegara, Mataram city. He is suspected to be the boyfriend and the one who caused AS to become pregnant.
Based on information from the Mataram City Hospital, there was a woman who was suspected of having abortions by consuming drugs of an unknown type and brand.
"AS drink the drug in her rent house. After that, she gave birth to a baby, but the placenta was still left in her stomach. AS then immediately went to the Mataram City Hospital," he explained.
Seeing the condition of the patient (AS), the nurse interrogated the suspect, and AS admitted that she had taken an abortion drug.
"Based on the report, the PPA Unit of Polresta Mataram Satreskrim then stepped down to disclose the suspected abortion case," explained Wakapolresta.
Based on the confession of AS, she got the drug from IKS (her boyfriend). Thus the team secured the IKS at his home.
After interrogating IKS, the drug was obtained through the suspect initialed A, 27 years old. He is a parking attendant at a pharmacy store in Mataram city.
Suspect A then was interrogated, and he said that the drug is Misoprostol, and he got it from IPS, a 35-year-old man, who is a worker at the pharmacy.
After the interrogation of suspect A, the drug, which turned out to be under the Misoprostol brand, was obtained from Br. IPS, 35 years old man, addresses the city of Mataram who is a worker at the pharmacy.
The four suspects involved in the crime of abortion have been detained at the Mataram Police Detention Center to be held accountable for their actions.
As for the evidence, the police secured a set of outer and inner clothes, 4 cellphones belonging to the four suspects, and 3 pills of Misoprostol brand of drug.
While the articles that will be charged to the suspect are 774, Law No. 35 of 2014 concerning amendments to Law No. 23 of 2002 concerning Child Protection with a threat of 10 years in prison.
