Tribratanews.polri.go.id - Jakarta. Polda Metro Jaya confirmed that they would not use live bullets when securing the Student Executive Board of Indonesia (BEM SI) demonstration which will be held tomorrow, Monday (11/4/2022). Security will be carried out humanely.
This was conveyed by the Head of Public Relations (Kabid Humas) of the Polda Metro Jaya Commissioner Endra Zulpan in response to the statement by the Coordinating Minister for Political, Legal, and Security Affairs, Mahfud MD, who asked the officers not to use violence and use live ammunition when securing demonstrations.
"Obviously, we are conducting the security during the demonstration as humanely as possible," said Zulpan, Sunday (10/4/2022).
Humanist security is also the concern and the direction of Police Chief (Kapolda) Metro Jaya Inspector General Fadil Imran. "The services that we put forward for all demonstration participants are humane steps and we will not use live bullets. That has been the direction of the Metro Jaya Police Chief," he said.
Previously, Coordinating Minister for Political, Legal, and Security Affairs, Mahfud MD, conveyed a message to the National Police Chief through the Deputy Head of the National Police Intelligence and Security Agency, Inspector General Merdisyam, not to be violent when securing the student demonstrations.
"In dealing with the planned demonstration, the government has coordinated with security forces and law enforcement to provide the best possible service and security, there should be no violence, no live ammunition, nor should it be provoked by provocations," said Mahfud.
