The Challenge in Managing Mass Mobilization in Homecoming 2022

Tribratanews.polri.go.id -  After two years, the government has banned homecoming activities due to the Covid-19 pandemic, this year it is very likely that the government will allow people to do that with several conditions.

The allowance to do the homecoming during Lebaran, it is estimated that there will be around 70 million people who will travel. This is indeed a very fantastic amount, which is of course a good and coordinated arrangement of traffic management for homecoming and return flows is necessary.

This needs to be done to smooth out the big celebration of the community of the year. So that it does not cause problems, let alone victims.

Not surprisingly, to ensure that everything can be handled properly, the Traffic Police Chief (Kakorlantas), Inspector General Firman Shantyabudi has already checked and discussed the preparations for the homecoming flow which is expected to occur at the beginning of this year's fasting. Traffic jams that occur on several toll roads, every weekend or during a long holiday, will be their lessons and evaluated and will do their best so that such disaster does not occur during the peak of the homecoming season.

Certainly, none of us want to have to spend days on the roads because of traffic jams.

According to communication observer, Rahmat Edi Irawan, the Police were very serious in handling community homecoming activities. In addition, the initial discussion on preparations for homecoming hopefully can find a solution in anticipating severe traffic jams. Of course, in the end, the message that the Police wanted to convey to the public is that the public doesn’t have to worry and enjoy their travel.

"The severe traffic jams, that used to be a horror story during Eid homecoming a few years ago, will no longer happen in Indonesia with early anticipation of transportation management by the National Police Traffic Corps," said Rahmat Edi.
