Tribratanews.polri.go.id - The Separatist group returns with another terror. It was reported that they have burned down a dozen houses in the Ilaga Puncak Papua District, on Monday (4/4). This action allegedly is an act of revenge for the death of one of their members, Ali Kogoya.
They also fired their guns at the village, terrorizing the locals.
This report was confirmed by the Head of the Cartenz Peace Operations Task Force (Kasatgas Cartenz), Commissioner A. Mustofa Kamal. He said the police were working out in handling the incident.
"We are currently working out in handling these problems, and our priority is rescuing the victims," said Kasatgas Cartenz.
For now, the Police have not been able to estimate how much loss the residents have suffered from the attack by the separatist group.
"Our priority is rescuing and helping the victims, especially now when they are scared and afraid due to the brutality of the separatist group. We will inform you again of further developments," said Commissioner A. Mustofa Kamal.
On the other hand, Timotius Murib, the chairman of the Papuan People's Council (MRP), admitted that he was upset about the incident. He took this matter seriously considering the victims were civilians who did not know the root of the conflict in the field.
"I condemn the actions of the separatist group, this is not supposed to be happening upon the residents who are not involved in the conflict," said Murib.
He also said that this act of brutality by the separatist group had violated human rights. As chairman of the MRP, he would continue to defend the rights of the Papuan people.
"I have the authority, I am ready to bring the aspirations of the Papuans to fight for their rights, because I strongly condemn the act of terror like this," he concluded.
