Tribratanews.polri.go.id - Jakarta. Head of the National Narcotics Agency (BNN), Commissioner Petrus Reinhard Golose held a meeting with Commission III of the DPR to discuss the changes of Law Number 35 of 2009 concerning Narcotics. Petrus said that the focus of the amendment to the Narcotics Law was related to the rehabilitation of drug users.

"The meeting with Commission III is related to the amendment of Law Number 35 of 2009. The focus that we convey in the discussion is about rehabilitation," explained the Head of BNN at the parliament complex, Senayan, Jakarta, Tuesday (29/3/22).

Other than rehabilitation, his party also focuses on forming an assessment team. The team will focus on determining whether a user who is arrested can be processed or rehabilitated.

"And we also discuss the integrated assessment team. Why the integrated assessment team? Because after the arrest, if the suspect is just a user or addict, we will have to determine whether the suspect should be processed or rehabilitated. Now, the integrated assessment team already has a joint decision with the government, it just needs to be strengthened in this amendment," explained the Head of BNN.

Commissioner Petrus Reinhard Golose said there were 1,124 new types of drugs. In fact, 87 of them have already entered Indonesia. For that, he said it is necessary for a new regulation so that BNN can take proper action.

"Next, we are already aware of the new types of drugs or New Psychoactive Substances (NPS) in the world, and there are 1,124 new NPS. Out of those thousands, 87 of them have already entered Indonesia, so regulation is needed and BNN will be able to take proper action," explained the Head of BNN.
