Investigators from the Directorate of Cyber Crimes (Dittipidsiber) of the Criminal Investigation Agency (Bareskrim) of the Indonesian National Police (Polri) are still investigating Doni Salmanan regarding the case of binary options fraud through the Quotex application.
For further investigation, investigators from Dittipidsiber Bareskrim Polri have extended the detention period of Doni Salmanan for the next 40 days. The detention extension period for the person concerned is effective from April 1, 2022.
Head of Sub-Directorate I of the Dittipidsiber Bareskrim Polri, Commissioner Reinhard Hutagaol said in his statement, Wednesday (06/04/2022) that the extension of Doni Salmanan's detention is to investigate and complete the case file.
Reinhard Hutagaol said that the investigation team was still investigating and processing the Doni Salmanan case file, before delegating the case to the Attorney General's Office.
To date, the investigative team has examined nine expert witnesses, consisting of two language experts, two information and electronic transaction (ITE) experts, three criminal experts, one investment expert, and one cybersecurity expert, as well as 45 other witnesses.
Investigators have also confiscated several of Doni Salmanan's assets with a temporary nominal value of IDR 64 billion and cash worth IDR 3.3 billion.
Investigators have seized evidence of four Gmail and social media accounts belonging to Doni Salmanan, which is King Salmanan's YouTube account, and three email accounts connected to the Quotex application.
There may be still more evidence that the suspect hid. Thus, investigators must continue to trace assets that are suspected to have already changed hands.
